TSMC: Consider building an advanced process factory in Japan!
On July 4th, TSMC held a press conference in Yokohama, Japan, discussing the business situation in Japan. Zhang Kaiwen, Senior Vice President of TSMC Business Development, stated that TSMC is currently building factories in Japan and the United States, with Kumamoto Factory in Japan focusing on launching 12nm/16nm and 22nm/28nm production lines.
According to the data released at the meeting, TSMC’s sales in the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year (April June) were 16.72 billion US dollars (currently approximately 121.387 billion RMB), with 5nm technology accounting for the highest proportion at 31% and 7nm accounting for 20%. The combined proportion of the two exceeded 50%. In addition, Zhang Kaiwen also stated that TSMC will begin mass production of 2nm GAA (Gate All around) process “N2″ in 2025
